About Us

Sharp Kids was created by Katie Tilson, an experienced Early Childhood Teacher and Mum, looking for a way to share her passion for both early childhood development and music with others.

Born in Ballarat, Katie grew up with a love of music and began playing guitar in primary school. She further developed her love of music by singing in her school choir and Royal South Street competitions.

Katie completed her Bachelor of Early Childhood Development, with Honours, at The University of Melbourne and has taught Kindergarten in Melbourne and Ballarat. She has also worked in various Child Care Centres.

Katie and her husband, David, are blessed with 2 young daughters Juliette and Madeline. Katie's aim is to share her passion for music with children and to encourage their creativity, imagination and development in fun and exciting ways.

Seeing a need in the local community for high quality learning toys, Katie further developed Sharp Kids to include an online toy shop. Each item in the shop has been hand picked and often “road tested” by her two young daughters. Sharp Kids Online Shop features a range of stunning costumes, wooden toys, books, puzzles, games and puppets to aid in children’s learning.
